Alien Covenant is the sequel to Prometheus and is the second installment in the Alien prequel series. It is the sixth installment overall in the Alien film series, as well as the third directed by Ridley Scott.

David is an android commissioned and built by Sir Peter Weyland. He was assigned to the crew of the USCSS Prometheus for its mission to LV-223, and was one of the two survivors of the disastrous expedition, along with Dr. Elizabeth Shaw.
